Trans Niugini Tours

ABOUT

Trans Niugini Tours is Papua New Guinea’s leading inbound tour operator, established in 1976 in Mount Hagen, the highlands city. It is unique for owning and managing a fleet of water, air, and land vehicles, as well as a collection of award-winning wilderness lodges across PNG.

They operate seven exclusive wilderness lodges across Papua New Guinea, each set in a remote, ecologically and culturally rich location: Karawari Lodge offers river views and access to stilted villages in the East Sepik; Ambua Lodge sits high in the Doma Peaks overlooking the Tari Valley, home of the Huli Wigmen; Sepik Spirit Floating Lodge provides cultural river voyages themed around crocodile traditions; Malolo Plantation Lodge on Madang’s North Coast is ideal for diving and snorkeling; Bensbach Wildlife Lodge lies in wildlife-rich floodplains of the Western Province; Rondon Ridge Lodge near Mount Hagen boasts panoramic valley views and hiking trails; and Lake Murray Lodge, on PNG’s largest lake, is a popular spot for birdwatching.

Trans Niugini Tours offers a variety of programs centered on cultural immersion, natural exploration, and traditional festivals, giving visitors the chance to experience Papua New Guinea’s diverse cultures, wildlife, and landscapes—from rainforests and coral reefs to remote villages. The company ensures high standards of service, safety, and reliability, and operates its own aircraft, boats, and minibuses to provide easy access to even the most remote locations.
