Crafted Africa was founded by Mike Varndell, who was born in Zimbabwe and raised in Malawi. After pursuing a career in finance in the UK, he returned to Africa in 2009 to fulfill his dream of becoming a travel industry guru. He started with Malawian Style, which began as a budget group tour company and expanded to high-end adventure tours in Southern Africa.

Crafted Africa was created to reflect the company’s expertise in more than just Malawi. The success of the company is due to the team’s local knowledge combined with international standards, providing personalized service and quick response times.
