Etho Metho Tours & Treks is one of the oldest and most experienced tour operators in Bhutan. It was founded in 1990 by former colleagues from Bhutan's government-run Tourism Department and was formally established in 1991 when Bhutan’s tourism sector was privatized. The name "Etho Metho" means "Rhododendron" in Dzongkha, Bhutan’s national language.

Etho Metho has grown from humble beginnings into a leading Bhutan tour operator, now employing 55 permanent staff, including experienced guides, drivers, office personnel, and a skilled trekking team. Their fleet consists of 20-25 well-maintained Toyota vehicles, ranging from coaches to smaller vans, all operated by professional drivers with extensive experience on Bhutan’s winding roads.

Specializing in customized travel, Etho Metho offers everything from cultural tours to adventurous treks, focusing on value-added services for discerning travelers. Their offerings include certified accommodations, licensed local guides fluent in English, and expert catering teams for treks. The company is committed to environmentally responsible tourism.
